A day in the light

Individual university project – 5 weeks – 2021

Brief: Create an engaging and creative short film (duration of 60 - 90 seconds) about a space of your choice.

I chose to tell a story about the passing of time and light and how this changes the atmosphere around the skyscrapers in the City of London.

I wanted to create a narrative about the changes in colour, light and shadows throughout the day. I divided the short film into 4 parts, where each part represents a specific phase of the sunlight.

I chose to compose my own music in order to emphasise the passing of time, tailoring the soundtrack to the different parts of the day. The soundtrack is in 60 beats per minute to highlight the passing of time and how that affects the space.

I also decided to create an alternate version with a “Stayin’ Alive” 50 Cent remix for fun.
